    L'objectif de mon programme de recherche est de comprendre comment les processus écologiques et évolutifs interagissent pour générer et maintenir la diversité phénotypique et d'étudier l'influence des processus évolutifs sur la dynamique des populations naturelles (ratons-laveurs et mouflons d'Amérique). Pour ce faire, mes étudiants et moi poursuivons le suivi longitudinal d'individus marqués (de 14 à 35 ans de données) pour lesquelles nous avons des données empiriques détaillées sur la survie, le recrutement, le phénotype (incluant la masse corporelle, l'âge de la première reproduction) et les conditions environnementales pour des cohortes entières. Nous utilisons une approche multidisciplinaire, intégrant la théorie provenant de la biologie des populations et l'écologie évolutive pour analyser des bases de données exceptionnellement détaillées afin de comprendre les causes des fluctuations en effectifs des populations et les conséquences de celles-ci sur la sélection naturelle.
