ÉducationRechercheLa symbiose est l'association intime, bénéfique, d'au moins deux êtres vivants généralement très éloignés l'un de l'autre au point de vue taxonomique. La mycorhize est l'exemple le plus répandu, et consiste d'une association symbiotique entre les racines des plantes et les champignons. La symbiose mycorhizienne à arbuscules est de loin la plus commune et concerne plus de 80% des plantes aussi bien tempérées que tropicales. Cette association mutualiste joue un rôle majeur dans l'adaptation des plantes à leur environnement et améliore leur croissance. L'objectif de mes recherches est de comprendre la structure génétique, l'évolution et la reproduction des champignons mycorhiziens à arbuscule. De telles connaissances sont extrêmement importantes pour l'agriculture et l'aménagement de l'environnement. L'impact d'un futur savoir quant au fonctionnement au point de vue génétique de ces organismes est vital et nécessaire à la compréhension de leur rôle primordial dans la nature.
