Research

  • Population ecology
  • Competition for space
  • integrated vegetation management
  • Invasive species
  • Natural capacity of water purification by aqautic plants

  • The research done in the plant dynamics lab deals with the identification and quantification of mechanisms of intra- and inter-specific competition for space. On the fundamental plan, the goal is to integrate the growth of plasticity in plants to the competition phenomenon between neighbouring plants and to assess its consequences on plant dynamics. The expertise acquired by my lab on space competition and occupation by plants are utilized in the framework of applied work aiming to solve environmental problems like the management of invasive plants or the purification of waste water by the usage of rapidly growing macrophytes.
