Projet

Génétique évolutive de l'Hirondelle bicolore
Ma thèse de doctorat vise à approfondir nos connaissances sur les bases génétiques de traits reproducteurs. Plus particulièrement, je vais me pencher sur trois objectifs spécifiques, soit 1) quantifier l’effet de différentes conditions environnementales sur la variance et covariance génétique additive et environnementale de traits reproducteurs, 2) caractériser les composantes de génétique quantitative et les bénéfices indirects associés à la polygamie génétique, et 3) caractériser la variation génétique et spatiale associée à un gène lié à la phénologie de la reproduction. Pour ce faire, je vais utiliser le système d’étude de l’Hirondelle bicolore (Tachycineta bicolor), une espèce qui fait l’objet d’un suivi à long terme dans le sud du Québec.
