Project

Génétique évolutive de l'Hirondelle bicolore
My PhD thesis aims to contribute to a better understanding of the genetic basis of reproductive traits. More specifically, I will consider three objectives, 1) characterize the quantitative genetic values and indirect benefices associated with genetic polyandry, 2) quantify different environmental effects on additive genetic and environmental variance and covariance of reproductive traits, and 3) characterize the genetic and spatial variation of the circadian gene Clock, a gene associated with reproductive phenology. To do so, I will work with the study system of Tree swallow (Tachycineta bicolor) in southern Quebec.
