Project

Conservation genomics of freshwater fish species important to Indigenous Peoples in Canada
My project is part of the large collaborative project called FISHES - Fostering Indigenous Small-scale fisheries for Health, Economy and Food Security. The project aims to interweave Indigenous Knowledge and Genomics to improve fisheries conservation, management and stewardship. My role is to develop and apply genomic tools to identify distinct fish populations, infer population diversity and structure and uncover the mechanisms underlying putative adaptation.
