Project
The use of spectrometry as an identification tool in hawthornsMy project aims to test a new identification method, leaf spectrometry, to facilitate the detection and identification of hawthorns in Quebec. These shrubs, belonging to the Rosaceae family, are recognized as a particularly challenging group to identify due to their great diversity (approximately 20 species and varieties in Quebec, over 400 worldwide) as well as their variable morphology. To achieve the project's goals, various approaches such as genomics, morphometrics, and spectrometry are being employed.
