Estimating the flight and dive costs of a small arctic seabird, the dovekie (Alle alle)Using both accelerometer and doubly-labeled water data, collected on dovekies in the Greenlandic arctic (July 2017), I will be estimating the energetic costs of flying and diving in this small species of arctic seabird. Due to its size and abundance, the dovekie represents an excellent candidate for study and could provide insight into the energetic patterns present in seabirds of the Alcid family.
