The effects of disturbances on Quebec forest dynamics
Disturbances are the main drivers of forest dynamics. Whether it is fire, insect outbreaks or forest management, these events lead to changes in forest composition, structure and productivity over time. Understanding these dynamics is essential to anticipate the response of forests to future climate change and the impacts on forest carbon reservoirs. The main objective of my research is to evaluate and quantify the effect of disturbances and management on forest dynamics at the scale of Quebec.
