Projet
Wildlife reintroduction: Nonhuman primates, community engagement, and the dynamics of rescue centresNon-human primates and biodiversity are threatened across the globe, and there is an urgent need to understand and manage human-ecological coexistence. I aim to explore these challenges and address potential solutions through the lens of wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release as a morally sound and impactful vehicle for action. My doctoral research is centered around three major themes: (1) the rehabilitation and reintroduction of bearded capuchin monkeys in the Brazilian Caatinga forest biome, (2) human-wildlife coexistence in the area of release, and (3) the effectiveness and ethical integrity of wildlife rescue centres in the realms of animal welfare, human welfare and conservation.
