Impact of juvenile hormone on the allocation of ressources between the immune system and the reproductive system in the sand field cricket (Gryllus firmus)
The main objective of my research is to quantify the effect of juvenile hormone (JH) on the immune system and the reproductive system for male and female of the species Gryllus firmus. We will measure the effect of JH on male by measuring the intraspecific aggressivity, on differents immune components like phenolxidase, hemocytes and melnization and the mortality rate when expose to a pathogen. For females, the effect of juvenile hormone will be measure on the egg-laying behavior, mortality rate and on fecundity (number of eggs laid).
