I have worked with many scientists on their statistical analysis, and I have put together a short workshop of tips and advice that I frequently repeat. These tips will help you to interpret your results more easily and with more confidence. In this workshop we are focussing on linear models: multiple regression and ANOVAs
- Where is 0? Take control of your model intercept by choosing your zero thoughtfully.
- What are the units? We can change units of our variables and have slopes that have more scientific meaning.
- There are 4 different types of contrasts for categorical variables - what kind of contrast is right for you and your question?
- “My data isn’t normal!?” – but should you care?
