Introduction to graphic design and image manipulation with Inkscape and GIMP

This workshop offered over one full day will present two main software for image manipulation and graphic design. GIMP is an open source alternative to software like Adobe Photoshop for photo and image manipulation, while Inkscape is an alternative to Adobe Illustrator or similar software that are commonly used for graphic design and creation of posters, pamphlets, flowcharts, logos, etc. Users will be introduced to basic concepts such as images vs vectors, image resolution, color formats, file formats, batch conversion, etc. The workshop will alternate betwen presentations by the lecturer and practical exercises.
The workshop is free for QCBS members. Non members will be charged 50$ (students and NGOs) or 100$ (others) for registering, if there are available spots. The presenter will send a link for online payment the week prior to the workshop.
Every one is expected to bring their own laptops to the workshop. If you cannot bring a laptop, please tell the presenter as soon as possible after registration.
