Agroforestry, rewilding, or afforestation? Public policy involving the return of trees on farmland.
The role of trees on farmland remains ambiguous depending on the perspective. They are sometimes considered to be encroaching scrubland and a loss of agricultural potential, sometimes precious natural habitat or carbon sinks. What normative foundations can guide a potential consistency in land-use policies regarding the presence (or absence) of trees on farmland?
