Roads and hiking trails as conduits for the spread of native and non-native plants into mountains and alpine ecosystems
Mountain ecosystems are undergoing major restructuring due to the altitudinal migration of native and non-native plant species. These rapid migrations, amplified by the interaction between climate change and human infrastructure, threaten the integrity of alpine communities. My study aims to understand how roads and hiking trails act as dispersal corridors, enabling the redistribution of native and non-native plants in the Canadian Rockies.
