Project

Biodiversity assessment in Québec
The project aims to estimate the biodiversity of Quebec (species richness across different taxonomic groups) by applying various rarefaction and extrapolation techniques using the ATLAS database. Since the ATLAS database presents spatial, temporal, and taxonomic biases, the objective of the project is to correct these biases by developing a new methodology that leverages the spatial information in the data to maximize the estimation of species richness. Ultimately, this study will provide real-time access to a compiled list of observed species for various taxonomic groups in Quebec.
