Metacommunity Framework: Carabid Beetle Community Responses to Habitat Stability in Agricultural Landscapes
This project explores how carabid beetle biodiversity patterns, including local (α), between-habitat (β), and landscape-scale (γ) diversity, vary over temporal gradients in permanent, semi-permanent, and annual habitats within an agricultural landscape. This research, framed by the metacommunity theory, investigates how stable habitats facilitate the recovery and long-term persistence of diverse carabid beetle communities following disturbance in annual crop fields. By integrating metacommunity theory with applied agroecology, this project contributes to both ecological theory and the development of biodiversity-supportive agricultural practices.
