Project

Urban forest and spatio-temporal temperature variation
This project aims to understand how urban temperatures, and specifically urban heat islands, vary as a function of space and time, and relate to the composition of the urban forest. While most research on urban heat islands is conducted at the surface temperature level, we will be gathering air temperature measurements, which is the parameter that is more relevant for human health and well-being. This research will help provide guidance on how to optimize the urban forest.
