Project
Influence of Disturbance Dynamics on the Biodiversity of Connected Ponds in GrondineOver the past two decades, more than 80 ponds have been developed on a stretch of land covering approximately 1.6 km in the municipality of Deschambault-Grondines, situated between Route 138 and the Saint Lawrence River. These ponds, interconnected by canals, are classified into three groups according to their location. Those upstream are situated on former agricultural lands; ponds in the central area are of a forested nature, while those downstream are located in a coastal environment. Therefore, the disturbances that affect these habitats diverge due to their respective geographical positions. The primary objective of the project is to assess the influence of disturbance dynamics on the biodiversity of these ponds.
