Metagenomic and Metatranscriptomic insights into High Arctic Nostoc Mat CommunityMacroscopic Nostoc mats can be found worldwide, and have been identified in extreme environments such as the Arctic. This project aims to better understand how macroscopic Nostoc mats can survive the harsh Arctic conditions and their role in Arctic geochemical cycling using metagenomic, metatranscriptomic and culture-based methods (acetylene reduction, chlorophyll fluorescence).
