Project

Honoring Salmon: Salish Relational Ecologies and Life Histories
This project examines Salish relational ecology and life history across the Pacific Northwest with a focus on salmon routes that bridge fresh and saltwater jurisdictions typically fractured by colonial systems. It examines the role of relational ecological knowledge for matriarchal governance, self-determination and stewardship and inter-community ties and offers an action anthropological and community-based approach to supporting innovative stewardship and environmental management firmly rooted in the authority of Salish communities.
