Project
Type of vegetation, soil macrofauna and ecosystem services in urban settingsMy study takes place in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and focus on four types of vegetation (lawn, single tree surrounded by lawn, ornamental shrubs and woodland) in urban settings. The questions of the study is to see if these types of vegetation influence the sol macrofauna community and the quantity of organic matter and water infiltration speed, two proxies for ecosystem services. Also, the taxa of ants and earthworms are closely looked to see if their composition could influence the two proxies linked to ecosystem services.
