Evolution of parasite resistance in recently parasitized Trinidadian guppies
I will be assessing the evolution of parasite resistance in a previously naive population that had Gyrodactylus spp. introduced 7 years ago. To do this, hosts and parasites from the introduction site, and a related site (donor for introduced parasites) will be crossed and compared to an unrelated naive guppy population and parasite population to determine host and parasite main-effects as well as degree of local and regional adaptation that has evolved within the last 7 years.
