Project

Diversity of fish communities and their habitats linked with life-history traits : An urban perspective
Under the Projet Ruisseaux, together with the Conseil Régional de l'Environnement de Laval, a characterization study of streams in urban areas is underway to understand the impacts of urbanization on plant and animal communities that are supported by these brooks. Specifically, it asks whether human activities near these streams can have a positive or negative impact on the geomorphology of streams, and also the presence and diversity of fish species and their habitats, for many life-history traits. Ethical implications in conservation will also be discussed.
