Project

Epigenetic variation within the complex of the blue-spotted salamander
Because they are reversible and sensitive to the environment, epigenetic marks allow clones to acclimate to different ecological niches, survive and prosper through environmental fluctuations by changing genes expression level. The interest of the unisexual hybrids complex of the blue-spotted salamander is that salamanders experience a wide range of habitats in their development and are strongly influenced by the quality of their environment. The objective of this project is to determine whether the complex of blue-spotted salamander is composed of several specialized lines to a small niche or a few general lines and to study specific to each epigenetic variation.
