Yann Surget-Groba is professor at the Département des sciences naturelles de l'Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), and researcher at the Institut des Sciences de la Forêt Tempérée (ISFORT) since February 2015. Before joining the UQO, he was professor at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in biology (2002) from the Université de Rennes 1 (France), and completed several postdoctoral fellowships at Bangor University (Wales), Geneva University (Switzerland), and the University of California at Santa Cruz (USA). His research focuses on the impact of adaptation and hybridization on the origin of new species (speciation), and on the development of bio-informatic tools for the study of non model organisms.
