EducationResearchTonia De Bellis is a researcher in biology, interested in biological invasions and microbial communities. Tonia is leading a project exploring mutualistic interactions between plants and mycorrhizal fungi. Specifically, she is interested in whether the relative strength of these positive interactions differ between native and invasive maple trees.Prizes and honoursInvolvement within the QCBSRelevant QCBS research themesExamples of species studiedBetula alleghaniensis Acer saccharum Clintonia borealis Publications4- Plant community influences on soil microfungal assemblages in boreal mixed-wood forests Journal Article De Bellis, T, Kernaghan, G, Widden, P 2007 Mycologia (Date Added: 2015-09-08) 3- Diversity of the small subunit ribosomal RNA gene of the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi colonizing Clintonia borealis from a mixed-wood boreal forest Journal Article DeBellis, T, Widden, P 2006 FEMS Microbiology Ecology (Date Added: 2015-09-08) 2- Relationships between stand composition and ectomycorrhizal community structure in boreal mixed-wood forests Journal Article DeBellis, T, Kernaghan, G, Bradley, R, Widden, P 2006 Microbial Ecology (Date Added: 2015-09-08) 1- Effects of selective cuts on the mycorrhizae of regenerating_Betula alleghaniensis_and_Acer saccharum_seedlings in two Quebec mixed deciduous forests Journal Article DeBellis, T, Widden, P, Messier, C 2002 Canadian Journal of Forest Research (Date Added: 2015-09-08) |
