L'objectif motivant mes recherches est de comprendre comment les processus évolutifs ont généré la merveilleuse diversité des caractéristiques biologiques observées dans le monde naturel. Pourquoi certaines espèces se reproduisent-elles asexuellement, alors que la plupart se reproduisent sexuellement ? Pourquoi certains organismes ont-ils de grands génomes alors que des espèces étroitement apparentées en ont de petits ? Pourquoi certaines espèces choisissent-elles de s'accoupler avec des partenaires très semblables, alors que d'autres les évitent ? Ce sont là quelques-unes des questions fondamentales que mes recherches visent à résoudre, en combinant la théorie mathématique, l'inférence statistique et les expériences sur l'évolution.
