Projet
Novel holobiont-based approaches to rapidly adapt wheat to drought stressMajor consequences of climate change include pathogen pressure and increased frequency and severity of drought events. The project focuses on wheat resistance and resilience to drought stress of the holobiont (the inseparable combination of the plant and its associated microbiota). The overall objective is to better understand and harness holobiont adaptation/evolution mechanisms to improve within a single or a few generations the resistance and resilience of wheat to water stress, preventing yield losses.
