Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, elle s\u2019int\u00e9resse au savoir \u00e9cologique local, \u00e0\u00a0la gestion bas\u00e9e sur les communaut\u00e9s, au d\u00e9veloppement des aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es, aux adaptations humaines aux changements climatiques et au d\u00e9veloppement des p\u00eacheries de petite \u00e9chelle. Elle travaille en \u00e9troite collaboration avec les Insulaires du d\u00e9troit de Torres (Queensland du nord) depuis le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1990. Initialement, elle y \u0153uvrait en tant que coordonnatrice de la Strat\u00e9gie marine pour le d\u00e9troit de Torres et, plus r\u00e9cemment, elle a collabor\u00e9 avec Colin Scott (Anthropologie, Universit\u00e9 McGill) sur la documentation du savoir local, de l\u2019utilisation des ressources marines et des droits territoriaux marins des Insulaires.
