Trimorphism in male tree weta (Hemideina crassidens): the role of genetics, population characteristics, and environmental influences
I study a cricket from New Zealand called the Wellington tree weta (Hemideina crassidens) which exhibits three male morphs. I am working to understand why these morphs arise (due to genetics, the environment, or both) and if the trimorphism differs between populations.
